Healthcare Equality Index

The Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is a joint project of the Human Rights Campaign and the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association .  The HEI will provide a quality indicator for health care related to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) people, beginning with the hospital industry.

The HEI will identify existing policies that may be used as a guide to health care organizations with the hope that many more hospitals will adopt and promote policies of equality.

If you have hospital contacts who would be interested in completing the online HEI survey, please ask them to contact Tom Sullivan at HEI@hrc.org.  Tom will give the username and password to hospital administrators by request, and they can designate who will actually complete it.
