A. Gene Copello Physician Leadership Summit

October, 2011

The NPA is excited to announce the 2nd annual A. Gene Copello Physician Leadership Summit.  Named in honor of the late Dr. A. Gene Copello, a founding leader of the NPA’s Council of Consumers and co-chair of our Secure Health Care for All Campaign, this summit is an opportunity for emerging and established physician leaders from across the nation to build skills and learn directly from national experts in communications, legislative process, and community organizing.

This focused learning opportunity, by invitation only, is open to physicians at all stages of practice, from residency to those with significant career experience, who share a strong interest in leadership.  Participation in the A. Gene Copello Physician Leadership Summit will be limited in number to ensure an ideal, high-yield learning environment.  We are inviting select NPA leaders and emerging leaders to apply for this experience.

Summit topics will include:

Media Messaging
Physician leaders will learn communication skills relating to TV, radio, online, and print media.

Legislative  Process
Physician leaders will learn skills to become highly effective legislative advocates at the local, state, and federal level.

Community Organizing
Physician leaders will share strategies that have worked in their own communities, use case studies, and develop concrete community leadership skills alongside experienced colleagues.  Skills include running effective meetings, project management, coalition building and physician mobilization.

We hope you will join us for a productive summit that will build skills and strengthen an increasingly effective network of physician leaders across the country.  For more information, please email npa@npalliance.org.

We encourage donations to support the summit; all contributions are fully tax deductible and will be used to defray travel and/or conference registration costs for participants.
