The NPA is an outspoken leader in the fight to reduce financial conflicts of interest in medicine. Founded with deep concern over the undue influence of the drug and device marketing in medical education, research, and clinical practice, the NPA is nearly unique among medical organizations in our refusal of funding from the pharmaceutical industry or medical device manufacturers.
Our efforts include:
- working to restore integrity and trust in the medical profession through our Unbranded Doctor Network
- a Leadership Development Call Series with advocacy and policy experts who provide technical assistance to physicians and residents
- a webcast series of National Grand Rounds presentations, several with accredited CME, to educate physicians and residents about the nature and influence of pharmaceutical industry relationships with the medical community
NPA is a proud member of the Partnership to Advance Conflict‐free Medical Education, made possible by a grant from the state Attorney General Consumer and Prescriber Education Grant program which is funded by the multi‐state settlement of consumer fraud claims regarding the marketing of the prescription drug Neurontin.
