The entire day of action – called “Health Care 09. We Can’t Wait” – is being put together by Health Care for America Now (HCAN) – the largest health care campaign in the country. Thousands people will gather at 11:30am on Thursday at the Upper Senate Park on Capitol Hill to participate in a large-scale rally showing Congress that real health care reform cannot wait. The crowd will then split off into state and issue specific town halls.
Throughout the day, doctors and nurses will also meet with lawmakers to give their unique perspective on what needs to be done to fix health care and to urge Congress to act now and pass real health care reform including a robust public health insurance option.
