As a regular feature of our monthly newsletter and blog, we are posing questions important to NPA members and asking you to join the conversation. This month, The Good Stewardship Working Group of the National Physicians Alliance published “The ‘Top 5’ Lists in Primary Care: Meeting the Responsibility of Professionalism” in The Archives of Internal Medicine. Ensuring that the recommendations outlined in the article will be followed means gaining the confidence and understanding of patients. By doing so, physicians will be able to provide both high quality care and efficient use of resources. However, physicians will need to be able to communicate this to their patients.
